NPR's Car Talk podcast added to iTunes Music Store
Car Talk is celebrating 20 years on NPR, and the self-effacing, often goofy show is now available in iTunes. It's exciting to "play along" and see if you come up with the same answer as brothers Tom and Ray, an now you can do that at your leisure. We have our local NPR station's schedule memorized, but sometimes it's just not possible to catch the show when it airs; throwing a tantrum won't always get you your way. The show certainly has its detractors, and some of the content can tend toward softballs, but the Magliozzis have built vast appeal and recognition, not to mention a little merchandise empire. If you want to hear hearty guffaws and try to solve the puzzler on your time, check out the Car Talk website, or iTunes and subscribe to the feed.

I understand they will offer three versions: the entire broadcast, one that consists of dialog about cars (about 4 minutes), and a third one that is their laughs at each others' jokes (remaining time).

This is sort of old news, since the "Call of the week" has been on Itunes for a few months and the whole podcast started about a month ago. Nevertheless, as Dan Roth said it's tough to find time to listen to them on the weekends, but a podcast is a great way to hear them and make people at work wonder what I'm laughing at. But the Magliozzi brothers are just entertainment and can't be taken as really hard advice. And for a long time listener, you can't beat their cameo appearance is Pixar "Cars" last summer.
Between Car Talk and "Wait, Wait, don't tell me" I look forward to being at work just to listen to them.
I'm still waiting for the full "Prairie Home Companion" and my week will be complete.

You don't need iTunes to subscribe to Car Talk podcast. iTunes unfairly dominates and isn't the only music store. For Creative Zen users, that can't use iTunes because it is locked with the iPod, use Zencast to download the podcast. Copy The podcast URL into Zencast. The Creative Zen Vision:M is better than the iPod.
