Saleen to introduce Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang in NYC
Saleen announced yesterday that it intends to unveil a special Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang at the New York Auto Show next week. While no images of the vehicle were made available (the snap above is of Saleen's 2005 NY Auto Show display), the Mustang tuning house did reveal the collector’s coupe would be packing a 370-hp V8 and that the styling would harken back to the 1970s. We’ll have more info on this Mustang dedicated to International Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee Parnelli Jones when we arrive in the Big Apple next week.

They have to do a throwback version of the allready thrown back mustang?

A new retro model T is in the works next... it's hush, hush, but they might reband the SVT boys to do an SVT T.
If you can't build a good new one, build an older old one. Either way, Ford will still find a way to lose money.

I'm not sure why some of you have such heartburn with the new Mustang design. They took some of the best parts of the old and add new technology to create the current. When is that last time the Porsche 911 (or whatever it is now) was criticized for being too retro. I still remember the first time my young son saw a 911. He thought it looked like a flattened VW Beetle.

I know why svt is being shutdown, its all because of the fact that there are individual peformance divisons that offer better Ford performance cars than SVT. Those performance divisons, like Roush and Saleen are way better than SVT. Plus the cool Frod cars that SVT made were all almost concepts.

I feel that this is just a travisty as this car is just a Boss Shinoda Stroker Edition mixed with a Heritage Edition Car http://www.teamshinoda.com/DSCN0422s.jpg . If Saleen Inc. were styling after the original car they would have left off the Shaker rear wing and rear louvers non of which we on a 70 Trans Am Boss 302 the same package has been available from up for nearly two years.
We have been styling using the princables that Mr Larry Shinoda (Original Boss 302 Designer) for nearly 8 years.

Ford,GM and Dodge have it right. Retro design with the most modern technology inside for the best performance and fuel efficiency for a muscle car. I can't wait for a boss 330,camaro z28 or a hemi challenger with a shaker hood and billboard graphics. What a great time to be a car enthusiast.

I don't care what they call em or where they get the ideas, but these "retro" Mustangs are the cats ass! ANY and ALL variations should be created for the world to admire and enjoy! (I can't afford one myself, but I can't keep from staring when one passes by!)

and to all you shevy fans where has shevy been with there camaro ... why did they stop making them because it will never be as good as the mustang and the new shevy camaro doest look half as good as what it looks like in the pictures on the web... i have a V6 2000 mustang myself yes the ones that u people say looks retarded but i raced a V8 camaro same year model and kicked its but so lol shevy sucks its just for rednecks the only reason reason rednecks like shevy is because well realy idk but shevy isent in Europe because GM the people that own shevy are going bankrupt and Ford Motor company the people that own jaguar volvo land rover and mazda are at an all time high because there better

and 1 more thing fords 50th anniversary mustang is coming up because it has been out all 50 continues years and if shevy even thinks about pulling that crap with the camaro i am gona laugh in there face because when u stop making a car and start back 5 years down the road to fix your crapy car then u have to start back over with first year
