iTunes users dig their VWs
According to the
statisticians over at Nielsen Netratings, if you're an iTunes user, chances are good you've indulged a hankerin' for a
Volkswagen.
In a new study released Thursday, NN's latest findings reveal that the average iTunes guy/gal is some 2.2 times more likely to own der Deutsche automaker's products than another Internet surfer. Other car makers that are hits with the media download service's audience include Audi and Subaru.
Among their other consumer allegiances, iTunes users count hard cider as their adult beverage of choice, and they're 3.3 times more likely to read Rolling Stone magazine.
Autoblog staffers might not order many bottles of Woodchuck, but we make no bones about our affinity for the sleek chrome-panned music bauble, or the podcasting medium that it's spawned. Check out our latest homage to Apple's coveted music box here.

Attention VW: first-party iPod integration is probably a good idea. Let's change that "coming soon" status on Apple's website to a "now available".

It's true! I use iTunes, I'm using it right now, it's got all my CDs in and my wife has an iPod nano. We also happen to own a VW.
The good news is that it's a stratos blue ninety Volkswagen Golf two door with a one point eight liter eight valve engine, a sun roof, thirty-five per cent tint all around, a front tower brace and a cone air filter. The bad news is it's an automatic with a blown bottom end, thirteen inch steel wheels... and my wife named it Charlie...

Check your timeline. I'm pretty sure iTunes was out before the iPod.

Oddly enough. Subaru's (besides the Tribeca) currently do not have an auxillary input OR a way to easily add one.... VERY mp3/sat radio unfriendly vehicles.

Haha..I called this years ago when I posted that Volswagen was the Apple of the car industry..now if they could only figure out how to match their profits.
VW is the car people like to wear.

I have a new Jetta and no iPod. What I do is since the Jetta stereo is MP3 compatible out of the box, I just have a huge collection of burned CD's saved in MP3 format. The largest one I've burned yet has 18 hours of stuff on it and there was still tons of space left over.

It's funny since I seem to remember there being a big ipod+beetle ad campaign a few years back, you'd think integration, let alone an auxilarry jack, would come standard so many years later. On new years eve I picked up my 2006 Jetta - no AUX jack to be found, and ipod integration is optional, they just don't have it yet (?!?)
